Rogoznica, a 16th century fishing village built on an island but now connected to the mainland with a causeway, is popular with nautical holiday makers thanks to its central location. Close to both Split and Zadar airports, Rogoznica offers both all-around shelter and a bit of reprieve from the summer crowds. Close by are numerous Instagramable secluded beaches, coves, and inlets (Blue Bay and Movar, for example) where you can drop your anchor and spend a lazy day. But if you’re feeling the tug of the currents, Kornati Island National Park and Nature Park Telašćica (Dugi Otok) are a day’s northbound sailing. If you turn your bow south, you’ll reach the islands of Hvar or Brač. On the shore, just behind Frapa Marina, is Dragon’s Eye salt lake that just begs for a skinny dip. For a longer break, consider visiting Krka National Park or the ancient cities of Split and Zadar along with their breathtaking Roman monuments and palaces.
